1975 yılından beri Fantastik kurgu yazarlarının kazanmak için birbirine kürekle vurduğu, ödül alan genç isimlerin ise daha iyi eserler yazabilmeleri için mümkün olan en güzel ve anlamlı motivasyon kaynaklarından birisine sahip olduğu World Fantasy Concention’ın düzenlediği ödüller 40. kez sahiplerini buldu.
H.P Lovecraft heykelcikleri bu sene pek çok sürpriz isme gitti. Türkçe’ye çevrilmesi için yana döne beklediğimiz The Goblin Emperor Katherine Addison, Robert Jackson Bennett’ın “yavvv birader bir kitap okudum acayipti” dedirten City of Stairs (buradan bir yayınevine sesleniyoruz, yeter gari çevirin şu kitabı), İthaki Yayınları’ndan çıkan Jo Walton Ötekiler Arasında, Gorge R.R Martin’in başı çektiği Rogues antolojisi, Jeff VanderMeer Area X gibi isimler/kitaplar ise elleri boş döndü.
Pek çok fantastik kurgu kitabına kapak resimleri çizen Samuel Araya bizi şaşırtmadı ama diğer sanatçılar da en az onun kadar iyilerdi. Daryl Gregory, bu adama dikkat edin. Bomba gibi bir yazar, birkaç sene sonra başka ödülleri de kucaklayacak…ahaa şuraya yazıyoruz.
